Dark Cherry Limeade Hugo Spritz

Finding summer drinks that tastes just as good as both a mocktail & a cocktail can be a struggle. This Dark Cherry Hugo Spritz blends tangy sweet cherries with floral elderflower and nostalgic limeade for a drink that hits however you choose to make it.

cherry cocktail inspired by a Hugo spritz, topped with a mango slice.

Why You’ll Love this Cherry Spritz

  • Summer is spritz season for a reason! This is a super refreshing & light drink to add into your summer drink rotation. This of it as cherry limeade, but make it chic.
  • Looks gorgeous to serve. That deep ruby color is a total showstopper, especially with the right rim and garnishes.
  • Cherry Mocktail or Cherry Cocktail? Your choice. It’s equally refreshing either way & only takes a few ingredients to make.

Cocktail Version

  • 5–8 Frozen Dark Cherries (thawed)
  • Juice of one lime
  • 1 oz elderflower liquor (St. Germain)
  • 150 ml prosecco
  • Top it off with sparkling water!

Mocktail Version

  • 5–7 Frozen Dark Cherries (thawed)
  • Juice of one lime
  • 1 oz maple syrup (for sweeteners)
  • 200ml sparkling soda – I recommend an elderflower soda like this!

Instructions

  1. Let your cherries thaw and add them to a glass with the lime juice and either maple syrup (m) OR st. germain (c). Let that sit for a minute and muddle until you lose patience. The cherries should break down into a paste.
  2. Pour your muddled mixture into a glass & top with prosecco (c) OR your sparking elderflower soda (m). Mix it together & top with some extra sparkling water if you’d like!
  3. Optional : Tajin Rim on the glass but you can get creative here!
